Full Stack Engineer
Qlay, a global technology solutions provider headquartered in San Francisco with operations in Tokyo, is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to support the growth of an emerging audio-based social networking platform. This is a full-time remote contractor role based in Vietnam, requiring 40 hours per week and sole employment. The role involves developing and maintaining a serverless web app for audio editing using React.js, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS, with backend components built using serverless functions and managed through MongoDB and cloud storage solutions like Azure. Hosting and deployment will be handled using Vercel. Compensation starts from USD 1,800 gross/month, along with paid vacations and an annual bonus equivalent to one month’s salary.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of full-stack development experience and a Bachelor’s degree—preferably from a top Vietnamese or global university. Proficiency in modern frontend and backend technologies including serverless architecture, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), and MongoDB is essential. Practical experience in audio/media editing and deployment via platforms like Vercel is highly valuable. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and working-level English proficiency are also required. Startup experience is a plus.

We are currently seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Serverless Web Apps) to join one of our clients, an emerging audio social networking platform that empowers users to share authentic voice notes and micro-podcasts, to help build and scale our serverless web application with a focus on audio editing and engineering.
Expectation for the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will:
- Develop and maintain a serverless web app for audio processing and editing.
- Optimize frontend performance using Next.js and React.js.
- Design and manage cloud-based storage for audio files (Azure).
- Ensure smooth deployment and hosting via Vercel.
- Work with MongoDB for database management.
- Implement responsive UI with Tailwind CSS.
Must Have Requirements
Preferably graduated from a top Vietnamese university (HCMUT, HCMUS, HUST, UIT, etc.) and/ or top university around the world.
5+ years of full-stack development experience.
Strong expertise in React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and serverless architectures.
Proficiency in MongoDB and cloud storage (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Familiarity with Vercel or similar hosting platforms.
Experience with audio/media editing.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Language: Working-level proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
Experience in startup environments (ability to move fast).
