Senior Software Engineer
Glints, Southeast Asia’s leading talent ecosystem, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Android to join their fully remote team in Vietnam. This is a full-time role focused on shaping and scaling Android applications with a focus on high stability and performance. As part of a cross-functional team, you will lead core system design, manage optimizations, implement monitoring systems, and provide technical guidance to peers. You’ll also work closely with stakeholders from product, QA, design, and SRE teams. The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience in Android development and 2+ years in a senior role, with advanced skills in Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP). Key tech proficiencies include Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins or CircleCI), and integration with REST/GraphQL APIs. A background in software architecture, clean code principles, and Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) is essential. Candidates should exhibit strong analytical and communication skills and be comfortable mentoring junior engineers and contributing to strategic technical discussions. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields is required.

Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Android application development, with at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
- Proficiency in Modern Android Development (MAD), including strong expertise in Jetpack Compose.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) for cross-platform app development.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and clean coding principles.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Proven track record working in Agile environments, including Scrum or Kanban frameworks.
- Proficient in Git and modern version control workflows (e.g., GitFlow).
- Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, Kotlin, Android Studio, SQL, and integration with REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with both Object-Oriented and Functional Programming paradigms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Comfortable leading technical discussions and mentoring other engineers.
Day to Day Activities
- Own the overall health and stability of assigned services, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Monitor service metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with the SRE team to implement monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
- Work with Tech Leads to review and approve changes to services, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to prioritize and plan service updates, balancing technical debt with feature development.
- Implement and manage changes to services, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers working on services within your portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, QA, design) to ensure seamless integration of new features and updates.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues within your service portfolio, working with the SRE team to resolve incidents quickly.
- Analyze root causes of issues and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Develop and maintain documentation for service operations and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide input on service architecture and design decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in mobility to inform technical decisions.
