Role:
We are building timezone redundancy and looking for critical team members in Vietnam, please no agencies. If you apply as an agency we will blacklist you from future opportunities for when we look for those opportunities. We are looking for individuals in Pakistan, or similar regions. We are open to hiring in other regions; however, we will not be able to accommodate salary adjustments for your country specifically if you are outside of Pakistan and working remotely. This role has potential for leadership, growth, and equity in the future as this will be part of the senior back-end team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust Python applications that support Sidepocket’s core investment management platform.
- Utilize Python and pandas for data ingestion, processing, and analysis, working with large datasets to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Add to unit testing coverage of existing codebase.
- Design and deploy scalable AWS infrastructure solutions, with a focus on security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with the product and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into high-quality, maintainable code.
- Implement best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment, enhancing the performance and reliability of Sidepocket’s platform.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Python development experience (5+ years with strong proficiency will be considered).
- Extensive experience with pandas for data handling and processing.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and experience in deploying, managing, and securing cloud infrastructure.
- Proven ability to write clean, testable code in a production environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a financial technology or investment management environment.
- Familiarity with additional Python libraries for data manipulation (e.g., NumPy).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and other tools for version control and deployment.
- Background in building data platforms or experience with distributed systems.
