Primary Description

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer who will design, build, and operate secure build & deployment pipelines on AWS using Terraform, AMI/Packer, and Kubernetes (EKS), while performing security audits across images and infrastructure (IaC, containers, networks, and IAM).

Job details:

• Design AWS architectures (multi-account via Organizations/Control Tower, VPC/subnets/routing, Security Groups/NACLs, ALB/NLB, WAF).
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform (modular design, versioning, remote state/workspaces or Terragrunt, policy-as-code with OPA/Conftest).
• Build AMI pipelines with Packer for golden/hardened images (CIS benchmarks); enable immutable deployments and blue-green/canary strategies.
• Operate Kubernetes on AWS (EKS): cluster lifecycle, autoscaling (Karpenter/Cluster Autoscaler), Helm/Argo CD (GitOps), network policies, Pod Security Standards, and secret management (AWS Secrets Manager/KMS/SOPS).
• Establish CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Argo Workflows): container build/test/scan and multi-environment deployments.
• Security & Compliance: image scanning (Clair, ECR, Trivy, Anchore/Grype, Snyk), IaC scanning (tfsec, Checkov), SBOM (CycloneDX), image signing (Sigstore Cosign), guardrails (SCP), CloudTrail/Config/GuardDuty/Inspector/WAF; produce actionable audit reports.
• Observability & SRE: logging/metrics/tracing (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry), alerting, SLO/SLI, incident response, and postmortems.
• DR & Resiliency: define and achieve RTO/RPO, enable multi-AZ/Region designs, backup/restore strategies (e.g., RDS snapshots, S3 versioning).
• FinOps: build tagging strategy, monitor with Budgets/Cost Explorer, rightsizing, and cost optimization.
• Configure and maintain multiple environments for the portfolio (e.g., dev, qa, test, production).
• Mentor the team, review code/IaC, and maintain standards, documentation, and runbooks.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

Must-have skills:

From 5+ years in DevOps/Cloud Engineer roles, including 3+ years of operating production workloads on AWS. Expertise with Terraform (modules, state management, remote backends, drift detection). Solid understanding of AWS infrastructure. Hands-on Kubernetes/EKS experience (networking, ingress via ALB/Nginx, Helm/Argo CD, autoscaling, ECR). Strong fundamentals in Linux, containers, and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS/mTLS, IPsec). Experience building CI/CD pipelines for AMIs and containers; proficient with Packer for AMI builds. Security acumen: IAM least privilege, KMS, secret management, patching, vulnerability scanning. Clear technical communication and documentation skills in English.

Nice-to-have skills:

Foundational Python & JavaScript for scripting/automation (CI/CD & operations), handling JSON/YAML and REST/gRPC; experience with AWS SDKs (boto3 and AWS SDK for JavaScript v3) and building small internal tools or AWS Lambda functions. Familiar with testing and code quality (pytest/unittest, Jest; ruff/flake8, eslint/prettier; dependency management via pip/Poetry and npm/pnpm). Professional certifications: AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, HashiCorp Terraform Associate. GitOps expertise (Argo CD/Flux) and service meshes (Istio/Linkerd). Experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript) or CDKTF, and Serverless Framework. Familiar with relational database managed services (Postgres, MySQL, MS SQL), SQL language, SQL performance monitoring, and schema management Software supply-chain security (Sigstore/Cosign), SBOM generation (CycloneDX), and policy-as-code (OPA/Conftest). Familiarity with AWS data and edge services (RDS/Aurora, MSK/Kinesis, ElastiCache/Redis, CloudFront, Route 53). Exposure to multi-cloud environments (GCP/Azure) or on-prem (VMware/Proxmox).

Other information

Remote working (full-time) - both 2 shifts: 2 PM – 6 PM & 8 PM – 12 AM, VN time

Max Rate/Offer: 50,000,000 VND gross/month

Duration: 3 months (sign contractor, no SHUI) at the 1st contractor

Contract renewal based on the project
