Qlay Technologies, a global tech firm with offices in San Francisco and Tokyo, is hiring a remote front-end developer based in Vietnam to support a cutting-edge canvas-based application. This is a full-time contractor role requiring 40 hours per week, ideal for candidates passionate about building responsive and high-performance user interfaces. Core responsibilities include developing interactive front-end features using WebGL and Konva.js, integrating APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver polished user experiences. Compensation includes one month’s annual bonus and paid vacation, although candidates must provide their own device and refrain from holding a second job.

Qualified applicants will have 3+ years of front-end development experience, strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and a deep understanding of browser behavior and rendering performance. Background in developing interactive tools or visual systems (e.g., design tools or editors) is essential. Working knowledge of React Flow, Konva.js, and WebGL is key. Effective English communication skills and a detail-focused, user-centric mindset are also critical. A degree from a top university is preferred.

Expectation for the role

As a Front-end Developer, you will be responsible for:

Build and optimize a high-performance canvas-based application.
Architect intuitive, responsive UI/UX for creative users.
Integrate frontend with backend data (basic data/API integration skills required)
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
Own the entire frontend experience — ensuring quality, scalability, and performance.

Must Have Requirements

Preferably graduated from a top university.
3+ years of front-end development experience.
Deep understanding of performance, rendering, and browser behaviors.
Experience building interactive tools or creative apps (design tools, editors, visual systems).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented and obsessed with user experience — beyond visuals, focusing on usability and efficiency.
Curious, independent, and relentless in building great products.
Language: Working-level proficiency in English.
