AI/ML Full Stack Engineer Intern
Back in 5, a travel tech startup reimagining trip planning through AI-powered personalized itineraries, is seeking a remote, full-time Engineering Intern with a focus on both AI/ML and full-stack development. Based in Vietnam (remote), this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing platform that combines real-time booking, smart recommendations, and community insights. As part of a lean team, you’ll work on building and scaling features such as itinerary generation, live API integrations, and UI enhancements. The role offers flexible hours, hands-on mentorship, and the opportunity to work directly with founders and product/design teams. Standout interns may have the chance to grow into a full-time role post graduation.
Ideal candidates are students or recent graduates in Computer Science or related fields, with proficiency in React, Node.js, Python, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript. A strong interest in or familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, LangChain, and OpenAI is highly desired. Experience with third-party APIs (e.g., Amadeus), strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset will set you up for success. Bonus points for experience in personal tech projects, hackathons, or other startup environments.
This internship is an ideal launching pad for aspiring software engineers looking to gain exposure to a product-led startup environment. The Role
We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Engineering Intern (AI/ML + Full Stack) to join our remote team. You’ll work directly with our engineering team to build, test, and scale features across the front and back end of our platform – including intelligent itinerary generation, live API integrations, and a beautiful user experience.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with both front-end and back-end development (React, Node.js, etc.)
- Contribute to AI/ML development for itinerary building and user personalization
- Help integrate third-party APIs like Amadeus and AI services
- Collaborate with the design and product teams to bring new features to life
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain software for optimal performance
Who You Are
Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or similar
Solid understanding of front-end (HTML/CSS/JavaScript/React) and back-end (Node.js, Python, etc.) development
Exposure to or interest in AI/ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Langchain and Open AI)
Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity to learn fast
Great communicator and team player
Bonus: Worked on personal projects, hackathons, or startups
