About Parsie

Parsie is a cutting-edge SaaS platform that transforms unstructured documents (PDFs, images, spreadsheets) into structured, usable data using AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). We empower developers and SMEs to build custom data extraction workflows leveraging prompt engineering, OCR, and backend orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on designing and implementing AI-powered data extraction pipelines using LLMs and OCR tools (e.g., Azure Document Intelligence, OpenAI API).
• Research, experiment, and optimize prompt engineering techniques such as chain-of-thought, role prompting, function calling, and JSON schema outputs.
• Build and maintain serverless backend services (e.g., Azure Functions, REST APIs) that power our multi-step workflows.
• Improve and manage structured data schemas for common document types.
• Implement prompt testing frameworks to validate output accuracy and consistency.
• Debug and refine multi-step LLM pipelines to reduce hallucination and increase reliability.
• Support the team with pipeline monitoring, evaluations, and documentation.

Technical Requirements

Backend Development Foundations:

• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or .NET (C#/F#))
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON data handling, and async workflows
• Familiarity with serverless architectures (Azure Functions preferred)

Prompt Engineering & LLM Orchestration:

• Experience or strong interest in designing multi-step prompts
• Familiarity with structured output formats (e.g., JSON schema enforcement)
• Comfortable analyzing and debugging LLM outputs

Data Processing & Pipelines:

• Understanding of ETL workflows and data extraction principles
• Exposure to or willingness to learn OCR tools (e.g., Azure Document Intelligence)
• Familiarity with schema mapping and validation

Cloud & API Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of Azure (or similar cloud platforms like AWS/GCP)
• Experience with or ability to integrate 3rd-party APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, etc.)

Testing & Quality:

• Ability to create prompt test cases and regression tests
• Strong debugging skills for LLM-based systems

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, etc.)
• Understanding of prompt security (e.g., injection prevention, safe validation)
• Familiarity with document layout parsing (e.g., receipts, insurance forms)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
