ServiceNow Lead Developer SPM (Japanese & English Proficiency)

Working hours: Japan Standard Time (JST)

Work Setting: 100% Remote

Type of contract: Freelance, initial contract until the end of 2025 + extensions after

Daily Rate: 180 €

Overview:

We are seeking a ServiceNow Lead Developer to take ownership of the implementation and continuous enhancement of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), Application Portfolio Management (APM), and the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), along with their related applications and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate technical solution design, development, unit testing, and production deployment for SPM, APM, and CSDM.
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business process design, functional requirements, and ServiceNow best practices.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to clarify business requirements and implement necessary system configurations and development changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement integration requirements with other systems.
  • Provide accurate time and effort estimates for tasks and proactively communicate progress or changes.
  • Deliver technical support for issue resolution, including UAT and post-Go-Live support, and assist with data maintenance.
  • Ensure all required system documentation is completed and delivered before Go-Live.
  • Support user training preparation and delivery as required.
  • Update and manage assigned tasks in a timely manner, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs and release schedules.

Experience and Skills Required:

Languages: Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese and English is required.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including:
  • At least 5 years in SPM development and support
  • Experience in leading projects and managing small teams
  • Experience in de-customizing ServiceNow instances is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Expert-level ServiceNow development skills
  • Strong understanding of key IT processes; knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, including awareness of the latest capabilities and trends
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to independently lead meetings and customer discussions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and initiative
  • Ability to deliver work on time and manage issues or risks effectively

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a closely related field
  • ServiceNow certifications are highly desirable
