Lead Mobile Engineer (Android)
Mindera is seeking a Lead Mobile Developer to join our remote, global team, with offices in Portugal, UK, USA, India, Romania, and Brazil. This is a full-time, permanent position offering up to $130K NET salary and benefits such as a strong engineering culture, agile environment, and opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies. You'll participate across the entire development lifecycle, owning architecture, hands-on feature development, mentoring your team, ensuring code quality, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders.
Key requirements include expertise in Kotlin (Kotlin Multiplatform a plus), Jetpack Compose, MVVM patterns, unit/UI testing, and modern engineering practices like TDD and CI/CD. You should have experience leading cross-functional teams, working in service-oriented architectures, and direct client collaboration. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to coach engineers are essential. Some international travel (up to 15%) may be required.

As an iOS Developer you will be responsible for creating fast, fluid, responsive and reliable mobile applications that provide our customers a rewarding experience. You’ll have an opportunity to participate in the whole development cycle, using modern technologies, architectures and processes. National and international expected traveling time varies according to project/client and organisational needs: 0%-15% estimated.
You rock at- Kotlin (Kotlin Multiplatform is a big plus)
- Jetpack Compose (Compose Multiplatform experience highly valued)
- Coroutines (or RxJava)
- Software Architecture (MVVM or similar patterns)
- Unit Testing & UI Testing – designing robust test suites
- Independent Delivery – self-driven, with the ability to operate with minimal supervision towards shared company or client goals
- Attention to Detail – a passion for quality and creating fluid visual interactions and mobile user experience patterns
- Leading Small, Cross-Functional Teams – guiding engineers and collaborating closely with design and product

As a Lead Developer, you will be both a hands-on technical contributor and a mentor/coach for your team.
- Architecture & Design – shape technical direction, challenge solutions, and ensure best practices are followed
- Feature Development – design, build, and maintain core product features in collaboration with clients
- Code Quality & Testing – write testable, maintainable code and uphold team testing standards
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing – ensure systems are well documented and accessible to the team
- Ownership Across Lifecycle – take responsibility for your code from design through deployment and ongoing support
- Mentorship – coach and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering growth and strong engineering culture
- Problem Solving – diagnose and resolve production issues, implementing preventative improvements
- Collaboration – contribute as part of a highly autonomous, cross-functional team while coordinating closely with client teams
